About the work
An ornament built on strict symmetry and decorative balance is destabilised from within. The surface delaminates; fragments shift and lift, turning the plane into a mobile, almost tectonic system.
The central motifs — like the knots of the composition — lose their fixity, shift and slip off axis, breaking the familiar order. Ornament no longer holds the form but becomes its participant, yielding to the inner tension of the structure.
