About the work

An ornament built on bright, almost naïve decorativeness hides a complex spatial structure. The surface is not whole — it is taken apart into modules, shifted and partly recessed, turning into a system of niches and cuts.

The flowers, deprived of depth, are drawn into this architecture: they cross the borders of planes, fall inward, lose their stability as an image. Ornament ceases to be a surface — it becomes material.

The work captures the moment when the decorative can no longer hide the construction. On the contrary, it exposes it, turning from a sign of harmony into evidence of rupture and of the inner tension of form.
