The composition turns to the Slavic ornamental tradition, in which pattern serves not only a decorative but also a protective function. The geometric structure is built as an amulet — a closed system of signs meant to hold wholeness together and ward off external threat.

Yet the surface is disrupted: cut, shifted and partly destroyed. The central element, resembling a core or a wound, breaks through the symmetry, turning the amulet from a protective form into a vulnerable structure.

A red thread running through the composition both joins and pins the fractures. It becomes a gesture of repair, but does not return the lost wholeness — it only holds it in a state of strained balance.

The work explores the border between protection and trauma, where the amulet ceases to guarantee safety and becomes evidence of a rupture that has already occurred.
