The work is inspired by the tradition of Persian ornament, where plant motifs and symmetrical structures form complex, rhythmically organised surfaces. The repeating pattern refers to the aesthetics of Persian textiles and ceramics, in which decoration becomes a way of expressing harmony and infinity.

The integral system of the ornament is deliberately disrupted: the surface is cut, shifted and reassembled. Fracture lines run through the pattern, destroying its symmetry while at the same time creating a new structure of connection. The damage is not hidden but becomes part of the composition, transforming ornament into a carrier of memory and time.

The texture of the work heightens this feeling: the layers seem to part and come together again, like fabric that has survived an intervention. Ornament here acts as a surface on which traces of rupture and repair are recorded.
